Anxiety got the better of me this week. None of the events were overwhelming on their own, but cumulatively they chipped away at my defenses.
My daughter’s minor car issue after hitting a curb is proving difficult to fix, with no clear timeline for when the necessary parts will arrive—if they can be sourced at all. A leaking ceiling from an ice dam formed after the snowstorm. A hard fall on the ice that bruised my knee and sidelined my running, sending my imagination spiraling toward permanent damage. Multiple flats on my indoor trainer tire. Florida weather is looking too cold to camp, forcing yet another change in plans.
I felt better when I just admitted my anxiety.
